This is an odd contraption that could be sort of a warm-up
to bungy jumping. You and up to two others are strapped
into full-body harnesses and hung from a cable so you're
lying horizontally, facing the ground. Then another
cable pulls you back and up, 220 feet above the ground.
One brave soul pulls the ripcord and off you go,
plummeting toward the earth at speeds up to 70 mph, and then swinging past the
gawking faces below.
It's really like a big swingset on steroids - look for
the giant steel arch behind the MGM Grand
and you'll know what I mean. Sure, it's just one more
way to hurtle a human body at rediculous speeds, but isn't
that what life is all about?
It's the largest Skycoaster in the world, and this one's hard to get tickets for, so reserve a flight
time at least one day in advance!
